CONNECTING CONTEMPORARY ART WITH A YOUNG AUDIENCE

CLIENT
Established in 1986, Carrée d’Art is a Contemporary Art Museum, situated in the very heart of Nîmes. Today the Museum’s art collection holds near to 600 extraordinary pieces and display’s exhibitions from all over the world.

STORY
A few years back we connected with the museum’s communication team to get an insight into the mechanisms of their structure. While working together on their press releases, we noticed that the Kid’s guide could need a fresh touch.
In fact more and more young visitors came to see the exhibitions, and we decided it was time to create a booklet that would connect a young generation to contemporary art.

PROCESS
We replaced the existing A4 sized leaflet style document, with an A5 booklet. Handy and easy to fit in a pocket, while strolling trough the exhibition halls. Based on the style of the kid’s atelier we created an illustrated Mascot called “La Petite Pousse” which would inform the young visitors in a playful manner about the impressive art pieces and guides them trough the Museum.
OUTCOME
Consisting of riddles and questions about the current exhibition, this editorial picks up the the colours of the Kids atelier to create an intuitive link. The printed A5 booklet will be freely available from April 2018 on at the Museum and serves as a support for the Collection of the Museum. It focuses on families with kids and school groups and aims at making the visits interesting and interactive for the young visitor.

FINAL WORDS
It was amazing to get an insight into the fascinating world of contemporary art museums and work with their passionate team.
We’d like to thank Carré d’art for giving us the opportunity to be part of their world and look forward to future collaborations.
